Family Fun Filled Weekend!

On Friday my sexy man, Andres, and my mom-in-law went and saw Avatar. We went to see it in the Imax theatre and it was 3D. It was AMAZING! I've never seen a movie in 3D before so that was pretty cool, and seeing it at the Imax was pretty cool as well. I liked the movie a lot more than I thought I would. The animation was beautiful, and I enjoyed the story line as well. Andres took a picture of us in the theatre after the movie with our enormous 3D glasses on. :)

On Sunday we pretty much hung out with family all day. First we went and had lunch with Braulio's family. We had sopes and they were really good, then we just hung out and talked for awhile. Then we went over to my sister Holly's house and hung out. We are moving to Utah this week so I wanted to go see my nieces and nephews before we move.

I was trying to take pictures of my cute niece Ashby with my dad, with his new goatee. Which I have never EVER seen my dad with facial hair my whole 27 years of life. It was hard to get everybody's attention or to get them to smile...lol.

Then my niece Kiersten was playing with my hair, so I took a picture with her and my lovely hairdo.

My sister Holly just had another baby. Now I have 28 nieces and nephews! I love babies, they are so much fun, and I love holding them! His big brother Briggs was being so cute and sweet with him.

After that we went to my sister Xela's and we had dinner with them. She made some really yummy enchiladas. I took some pictures of Hyrum and Porter. Hyrum was pretending to fall asleep in his highchair but then would start laughing. He is so stinking cute.

Then my parents came over with Holly and we played Apple's to Apple's. Its so funny cuz most of my family doesn't really put down the literal meaning for the card that is played. For example one time when I was playing the main card was "fun" so everyone else puts down a card that they think describes fun, and I put down Hot Lava. We laugh and laugh. Its a fun game to play.

It was getting late so we said our goodbye's and headed home. I'm kinda sad cuz both of my sisters live in Texas, and I'm going to miss them so much, along with my nieces and nephews. But all my brothers and my parents live in or close to utah. Plus all of Braulio's aunts and uncles live here in Texas so we are kind of torn moving to Utah. No matter where we live we will be leaving family behind. But I am excited to see all my brothers & their families that I haven't seen in a really long time. I'm hoping that we will get to see them a lot more now that we will be closer.

La vida, en momentos asi, parece imposible...

Last night I cried myself to sleep in the arms of my amazing husband. He is so good to me and so patient with me. I am truly blessed and am very thankful to my heavenly father. But others may not feel so blessed in their lives.

I have a friend, she is one of my best friends. Una de mis mejoras amigas. She means so much to me, and has been there for me. In my eyes we are a lot alike. We have gone through some very similar hard things in our lives. But like in my post last night, I decided to take the path less traveled by, and it has made all the difference. I don't know why I chose that poem last night, why I felt the need to post it. But I do know it has a lot of significance in my life.

My friend that I love so much, is going through something right now far more difficult than I have ever passed. Maybe what she is going through will help me to say my prayers more, say prayers for her, which will also help me. Help me to become stronger and closer to God, but I don't know if I want that if she has to go through what she is going through. Although, maybe it will help her become stronger & closer to God as well. Life is very very hard sometimes, and we don't always understand it. I definitely don't, and that is what makes life seem so impossible in moments like this.

I just want her to know that I love her very much and even though I can't be there with her, I am still with her. Siempre vas a estar en mi corazon. I am very thankful and feel very blessed that she is my friend, mi mejor amiga. No matter what happens in this moment, or in moments to come, even though it seems impossible, God understands, he knows, and he loves us. For that reason, in simple moments, I feel at peace, and we need not be afraid.

The Road Not Taken

I really love this poem by Robert Frost. A good friend gave this to me after going through some hard times and it really means a lot to me. Hope you enjoy!

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

My Hubby's Birthday

Yesterday was my sexy man's birthday, so we celebrated, cuz thats what you usually do on Birthdays. It was nice to have the day off so that we could just do whatever. We slept in....kind of. Braulio (unlike me) doesn't really like to sleep in on his day off because he feels he is wasting time, but sleeping is so nice! So he woke up and woke me up wanting to go do stuff.

Eventually we got some lunch at wingstop...one of his favorite places to eat. Then later than night we had dinner at Genghis Grill with Andres & my mom-in-law. It was really good....I really like that place and will miss it...cuz they don't have it in Utah. Texas is known for restaurants...and there are actually a lot of them here that I like that I won't get to eat at anymore....but St. George does have In 'n' Out Burger so I'm way excited for that...anyway...back on track....

After dinner we went to our Begues (grandparents) and they celebrated for Braulio and Tony...our little cousin. Their b-days are on the same day. We ate cake and Braulio opened his present from me.

He didn't know that I was going to get him a PS3 but kinda guessed that I did cuz I told him we didn't have any money left in the account...so he wasn't very surprised....(as you can see the disgusted look on his face).

Just kidding! He really wasn't disgusted, he really was happy about his present, so I'm glad he liked it. We have been wanting to get a PS3 for awhile now, so I gave in.

It was a good day....we had a lot of fun.....he got some birthday money from aunts and uncles as well so we went to walmart and bought him a video game that he wants, so he can now play all night with Andres. I'm so excited...can you tell? lol

Valentines Day Getaway

Sunday was Valentines Day so Braulio and I went to Shreveport, LA to get away. I had never been to Louisiana and it was partly for Braulio's B-day as well. So we got a nice hotel that had been newly remodeled. It was nicer than I thought it would be and the bed was extremely comfortable!!

When we got there we just started driving around checking out the city and what was around. We crossed the bridge to check out the river, which was really muddy, and then we went to the Louisiana Boardwalk and took a couple pictures by the river and to see where we were going to eat that night for dinner.

After that we went to our hotel to see if they would let us check in early and then we got ready for dinner. We went to Salt Grass Steak House which was on the river. We had called them to see if they would take reservations, but they wouldn't and they said it was an hour and 1/2 wait!! We checked out the restaurant in the hotel and their wait was even longer so we decided to just go ahead and go to Salt Grass.

We waited for about an hour and then we finally were seated. They brought us out some bread and then we ordered our appetizer which was chuck wagon cheese fries and they were soooo good! Then they brought us out some soup...and then we waited at least another 45 minutes until they brought us our steak! It was crazy! I think they stopped taking names at 8 because it was so busy. But by the time we got our steak we weren't even hungry anymore, so we only ate 1/2 of it.

We got to the hotel and I was mad because the fridge they had in the room was so tiny we couldn't fit our steak in there, and they have their dumb little drinks in there that if you move them it will automatically charge it to your room, so I couldn't move stuff around to make it fit, so it went to waste. :(

We also did a little gambling but we did it in the morning cuz we were so tired the night before that they didn't have roulette open. But we only gambled 20 bucks cuz we are poor and of course we lost it all...lol.

It was good to get away for the weekend though and take a little mini vacation. It was a good Valentines Day! I love you baby!

And it begins...

Well...here I am in my bedroom (such a lovely sight) attempting to start a blog. I've already spent maybe two hours creating it and trying to figure things out, (who's counting.....right?) and I've lost my text, couldn't find a picture I wanted to post and all sorts of fun things
are happening! Plus I get distracted reading other peoples blogs as well. =P Anyhoo, here we go!

So I'll start with the ever so lovely snow that we had here in good ol' TEXAS!

Yes, it snowed in Texas! I've lived here for almost 2 years, just short by 3 months, and this is the first time I've seen REAL snow here, that actually stayed on the ground! P.S. I'm originally from Utah, where there is too much snow.

It was actually pretty good to see snow since I haven't seen it in awhile, and it truly is beautiful. BUT I still don't love it. I would love snow if I was a fan of cold weather, OR if snow was warm! It is lovely to look at but I HATE the cold because I am cold all the time. Even in the summer, just ask anybody that knows me! Plus texas cold is nothing like Utah cold cuz of that good ol' humidity, it will chill you to the bones!

So on the 11th they cancelled work due to the bad weather and slick roads. So Braulio and I went outside to check out the lovely whiteness and I started throwing snowballs at him while he was taking pictures!

The next day it snowed as well, which was record for Dallas area. It got up to 13 inches in some places! We went to breakfast at Hubbard's that morning and then work called and I had to go in only for a couple hours to call routes, which wasn't too bad.
